Before deciding to have plastic surgery, you are bound to have questions. At Be That Beautiful™, we educate our patients on what to expect from cosmetic surgery and treatments, as well as reconstructive surgery. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions at our Beverly Hills plastic surgery center about our cosmetic procedures.
Cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure used to reshape face or body features to achieve an aesthetic goal. Most cosmetic surgery procedures are not covered by health insurance and expenses are paid by the patient.
Reconstructive surgery can restore function and appearance of damaged or defective face or body features. Abnormalities in the anatomical structure may be caused by birth defects, trauma, disease, developmental conditions and other factors. Reconstructive surgery is used to restore or improve function of the body part or facial feature, but the appearance of the feature may also be improved.
Reconstructive surgery is usually considered a necessary medical procedure and typically will be covered, partly or fully, by most health insurance plans. Coverage may vary significantly depending on your health insurance policy.
There are a wide variety of plastic surgery procedures with different recovery experiences. Dr. Chaudhry and our support team will explain what to expect during recovery before your procedure, and you will be prescribed pain medications if needed. Facial cosmetic surgery tends to have minimal post-surgery discomfort, but there may be swelling or bruising. Body shaping procedures like liposuction can have more discomfort which can be increased if the procedure requires muscle tightening or reconfiguration like a tummy tuck or breast lift.
Botox injections usually last three to four months before new injections are needed to maintain the results. You will notice the Botox effects lessening with time, increasing muscle movement and reverting to the previous appearance. Some patients experience longer effects of Botox with repeated use.
Restylane injections typically can last for six months before the effects wear off and new treatment is needed to maintain results.
Restylane is a facial filler that is very effective in filling and softening facial lines and wrinkles. Restylane uses hyaluronic acid gel to add volume under the skin to plump under wrinkles or reshape facial features. The treatment is quick and simple to administer using small injections with results that last about six months or longer.
Restylane and Botox (botulinum toxin) injections both are used for wrinkle and line treatment, but they work differently. Restylane adds volume in the skin to fill deeper lines and wrinkles, usually in the lower face. Botox injections are used for dynamic lines, usually in the upper face like brow frown lines or crow’s feet around the eyes. It works by paralyzing or relaxing muscles to stop the formation of lines and wrinkles from muscle movement.
Choosing the right size of breast implant will depend on your preferences, body frame and other factors. Dr. Chaudhry will listen to your aesthetic goals and discuss the best options to achieve your desired breast size and shape. He will discuss your medical history, goals and anatomical considerations, and together you will choose the best implant size and shape for your procedure.
Yes, all patients will complete a series of appointments and testing to ensure they are healthy enough for surgery.
