Like breast implants, the gluteal implants are inserted through a small incision under the fat layer. With butt augmentation with implants, the incision is placed inside the vertical crease between the buttocks. This hides the incision and scar and allows access to both butt cheeks to insert the implant. The silicone device is placed over the buttock or gluteal muscle to provide the desired projection and shape for the backside.
